The Grand 1894 Opera House, Galveston, Texas

Goat in the Road Productions brings more than 130 years of The Grand 1894 Opera House’s history to life through a new immersive audio experience.

Created in collaboration with the House of Abundance, the project invites visitors to explore the theatre’s past through the stories, performances, audiences, and defining events that have shaped the landmark over generations. From its early years and changing audiences to hurricanes, restoration, and renewal, the experience uses audio storytelling to make The Grand's history feel immediate, personal, and alive.

Rather than simply recounting the building’s history, the experience invites visitors to listen their way through it, connecting the architecture, memories, and people of The Grand across more than a century.
