Emma Schillage - Teaching Artist

Emma Schillage is a playwright, actor, and arts educator from Southern Louisiana. As an educator, Emma has taught theatre, directing, playwriting, and Shakespeare technique to students from first grade through the undergraduate level, including directing and playwriting courses at Loyola University New Orleans. In addition to their work with GRP, Emma has written several plays, including Cockroaches, which received its world premiere in Palm Springs, California, in April 2026 and is published by 1319 Press. Their short play Opposable Thumbs appears in a Methuen Drama collection. As an actor, Emma has performed with The NOLA Project, The Talkback Theatre, and Pomegranate Playhouse. Emma earned their bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts from Loyola University New Orleans and their master's degree in Playwriting from Columbia University. When not doing theatre, you can find Emma reading, cooking, consulting their tarot deck, or cuddling with their cat, Salem.
